It was first "Talked About," over a year ago, and I stumbled across this picture (NOTE: also from last year):

Pretty cool prototype boxes!  There has been a trend of marketing games in slimmer size boxes like these!

I wonder if these games will still come out?

Some unusual choices there, which perhaps can be chalked up to "images do not necessarily indicate finished product":

1. No Lose A Turn or Free Spin spaces on the wheel.
2. One stray $300 space. When was the last time that appeared on the show? Mind you, I'd like a wider range of dollar amounts on the wheel instead of what's become the standard range of $500-$900 plus the one biggie.
3. $400 bills in the play money, which make sense for Jeopardy, but just make then $500 here and it's fine. Especially if you're including such a small pack of bills.

FWIW I believe there's a purple one on the other side of the wheel but it's being obscured by a speed line. Are they were LAT and the MDW normally sit?

Actually...the current Pressman board is 30 spaces (the old school one is 33), so this is right in line with the status quo; that said, the puzzle they use in the press images makes the board look more crowded. I'm actually not mad at the decision to go four rows; save a few, most of the puzzles included in Wheel games (and on the show, for that matter) will fit in here.

I'm digging the letter distribution on the back of the card for the host- that's actually really clever. Not Tyco '92 clever, but clever nonetheless.

Maybe it's me, but it doesn't seem like too much to ask for a second wheel configuration- just make the layout a cardstock piece that you can flip over. Also, bonus round cards. But Pressman set those precedents long ago.

I have to think that the game will do more time sitting in the closet and most are content to watch the show (says the proud owner of Millionaire for Game Boy z color) so it would be more stuff that doesn’t enhance the experience and cuts into the margin.

I would probably throw a pile of cards from Probe in with my wheel and Bradley bucks, or laminate a sheet of graph paper/printout of the board for my own DIY set.

I guess lose a turn isn’t enough of a penalty??

I'm sorry, but I mostly don't accept that. I'm watching the UK Wheel, a non-daily series, release a version with bonus round cards at the very least. I'd also argue that all that stuff does add to the experience when done right, if not simply attempted.

I'm not asking for a Frosthaven level of quality here. I'm asking that we don't just slipstream behind Pressman's level of effort. They've made some solid changes here; I simply believe there's another half step that could be taken to enhance what's in the box.
