Game Show "Channels" On Roku,...Etc... Thread.

How long did they use that audio clip as Bob came out the doors and get the mic to start the show, and was it only inserted on the first-run eps and not the summer reruns?  Judging by the ep #s, the new Barker "Silver Hair Collection" on Buzzr begins well after that transitional period.

Not for nothing, but I remember seeing those when they aired, and I wanna say that "disclaimer" actively DID run on the summer reruns specifically, to explain to viewers why they were seeing a dark-haired Barker again after they had seem him with gray hair. It was closer to "Don't be fooled, this is an encore presentation of The Price Is Right, taped before I let my hair go gray." I *vividly* remember the phrasing "before I let my hair go gray," but I forgot to take my vitamins twice yesterday.

Getting old sucks.

That makes more sense.  The only thing I remembered was the "Don't Be Fooled" words.

Guess we need someone's VHS recording of one of those reruns to show up.

Buzzr and The Barker Era announced today that 100 fresh episodes of The Price Is Right, "in HD", as they are promoting (?)

The higher-quality transfer does look really nice on streaming. It's smoother and less jarring than any of the other shows that have been converted. In the first act of today's episode, you can even see the indents in the carpet the showcase podiums have left.

It's not perfect. During a game of Bullseye, the product names looked illegible to me unless the camera was zoomed in on the individual label. Just about everything else looked fine, though.

(Also, I don't think this was explicitly stated but BUZZR and Barker Era look to be showing the same episode each night)
