Audience Nap Time

A funny moment occurred midway through Fast Money on the 2nd half of Wednesday's 100 Mexicanos Dijeron. Before Marco started asking the 2nd contestant the 5 questions, he spotted a woman sitting in the front row of the audience who was fast asleep. He got up close to her and gave a rooster-like noise to wake her up. Then he joked some more about having someone falling asleep during the show, though I couldn't make out all he was saying. Then he returned to the game.

Does anyone recall any other instances of audience members getting caught sleeping during a game show taping?

I remember years ago Bob Barker caught some lady fast asleep in the TPIR audience, and couldn't resist pointing it out, and during commercial, they put up a still of her face, with the caption "Having a wonderful time"

Steve Allen also spotted someone fast asleep in the audience once on his late night show. The entire audience had already left. Steve just adlibbed and joked around while sitting right next to the guy until he woke up.

In his tribute to the now-departed "Fifteen-to-One," Iain Weaver (whose Weaver's Week columns are the best reason to subscribe to the Yahoo! Groups ukgameshows group) says that the show dropped its live audience when the mikes picked up snores from the crowd way too often (although Iain attributes it to the heat in the studio--yes, the heat--and the general mustiness of the facilities).  Take it for what you will.  They replaced it with what Iain charmingly calls "Canned Crowd."
