Likewise, with the new FF game tin, the prints on the bottom of tin show questions made for that version, and demo photos show from the "Gold" edition

The seventh picture in this listing for Password (with Keke Palmer on the box, but no sign of Jimmy Fallon) shows the blue words easily readable within the red concealing pattern... as opposed to the two pictures of actual human hands holding actual cards in decoder sleeves, where the red pattern is different and even the word in the window is practically illegible.

Spin Master, much like Endless, has treated red-ink obfuscation as a fun gimmick as opposed to an actual useable function from Day One.

Word from the same source at buyavowel.boards.net that release of the new WOF board game from Just Play Products is now delayed to Fall 2026.

FOLLOW-UP:  that source DID say he got word from JustPlay that the release date was delayed; however I just saw it in Walmart!!

I did not imagine it, but for the month or so, the spot on counter was labeled to be the Pressman Game.  Thespot was now properly labeled!

I can confirm that the new WoF game from Just Play is on Walmart shelves. Not sure why they are saying it is delayed until 2026.

If true, I thought maybe it was a licensing rights conflict since a new version of the Pressman game is out now as well? As in maybe they were arguing that they (Pressman) had the rights for another period of time for board games and they (Just Play) have to wait to release the other?
Strange, unless that person misunderstood or they meant Fall 2025.
Will be interesting if they get pulled.

I've seen a photo of the box bottom of Pressman's 7th edition WOF game.  It shows the demo puzzle (Category: Television; Answer: Wheel of Fortune) occupying just the top two lines unlike earlier versions.  It still apparently has the misconstrued "Free Play" feature and a different letter font on the used letter board.

When did this version of the home game go into production? Kinda interesting that they wouldn't create a puzzleboard based on the current one.

EDIT: left out a word.

The Pressman version reportedly came out last month, and the Just Play version just turned up this week.  I even thought that, especially since it wouldn't seem too difficult to design a new border similarly shaped like the current series version.

I wonder if Kohl's will, like it has been doing for some time, put out a 7th Pressman edition with extra material for Christmas this year?

It would not surprise me, whether Spin Master Games, or any other company, will release a Fiftieth Anniversary edition of FF next year!

I saw the Pressman version (7th edition) in my area Meijer store last night.  It wasn't until then, that I noticed the message in the box cover art graphic occupied the usual three lines, but each portion of the phrase was now left bound, not centered, as you will see here:

Apparently, the same holds for the actual game puzzles.

For the same reason that they're still (confusingly) printing wheels with Free Play and accompanying tokens(?)- it is way cheaper to use the materials already printed than to spring for new ones. As long as they have leftover inventory in their warehouse and they're not seeing a concerning sales dip, why work harder than necessary? I'm a Bears fan and you're a Cowboys fan- surely this isn't lost on us.

That said, in retrospect, they could've marginally cut the cost years ago by not printing Free Play tokens- methinks someone saw that the show changed the wheel, assumed they just turned the token back into a full space, and changed the artwork accordingly.
Fun Fact To Make You Feel Old: Syndicated Jeopeardy has allowed champs to play until they lose longer than they've retired them after five days.

My favorite example of that is the old Tic-Tac-Dough that Transogram put out in the fifties.  They had made a cubic ton of those (probably expensive) plastic game boards, and were left holding a bunch of them when the scandals brought everything to a screeching halt.  Their genius move was to repackage the game as "Three-in-a-Row Home Quiz."  The cover made no mention of any TV show, but when you opened the box, the plastic game board still read "Tic Tac Dough."

Didn't Ideal Toys do the same thing in the 70s with Hollywood Squares and Tic Tac Dough?

ISTR them using the exact same X's an O's and stand up 3x3 board (Obviously, the board face was different).  Not sure if they used the same question card holder/reader.

Transogram must have loved their Tic Tac Dough game boards, as they used the same design for a later game similar to Facts In Five/Scattergories called Glib. The rotating drums had the categories, and random draws were used to place the letters on the board. https://boardgamegeek.com/image/15762/glib

We've always heard "Once they made you they broke the mold."  Apparently Transogram never broke the mold.
