 I don't know officially, but if I had to guess I'd say the 5PM ET show would be TTTT90 (Lynn Swann hosts and two Santas not telling the truth).

 It might well be the 1990 Xmas episode, with a pair of celeb guests as secret santas as impostors in round one. That was shown during the Betty White Xmas shows marathon in 2000 and 2001.

That's right. But after watching that episode today, I almost forgot about the probably-now-defunct HO-HO-HOTLINE.

But I DID remember the late Hank Ketcham, creator of the comic strip Dennis The Menace.
