LIVE FEUD GAME TWO

To add to this for Mr. Lemon's benefit - it doesn't count strikes, sure, but as soon as you make strike three, you can't add to the bank. I made such a slip once that only cost a team $4, but it's just something that could have a fix.

Yeah, now that you mention it, safe keys would help. But the bit about knowing where you are - I can understand that. It works best when I host and run the game, but if I ever wanted to host with a runner offstage, Todd's program has a tremendous learning curve. I mean for fans like us it's easy, but otherwise "regular" people could get lost on to when the ring the bell, etc.

Faceoff would be okay, but if you really want to use it for a presentation, it'd be kinda cheesy to be around a computer keyboard. Or, the odd sync between hitting a real live buzzer and having something on the screen then be activated. When we played as a family, it was pulled off with a Quizzard. I could've easily done better, but it was kinda spontaneous.

Yeah, you can, that was one of my pet bugs that I suggested to Todd how to fix. If you ring up Strike Three, it does in fact toggle the "add to bank" flag so that the steal answer (correctly) does not add to the bank. If you rang it up prematurely, you just ring up Strike One or Two again, and the flag is reset, and answers will add to the bank once again. (The idea was to fix issues where people rang up Three when they meant to ring up One or Two, but it could be used if a board op rings up Three instead of flipping an acceptable answer....just "take back" the strike by ringing up the correct strike count, flip the answer, and continue.)

And, "leaning curve?" C'mon. Word processors have a "learning curve". With a cheat sheet, I could have a board op who had never seen the program before ready to run my show inside of a half-hour, tops. TOPS. That's not a learning curve.

Yes there is no need to start a fight! :)

Todds program is awesome, be remember WE are all game show fans and we know how these games work...for a live show I dont have the luxury of having a game show nut (no offense) behind the controls.

Ive done these shows in the past with friends/family and there are cetain things that I need to make it run smooth...as u can see there was no cutting in the video, games went 1-2-3 with no stops mainly because the software did all the work and the operator had little to remember or know.

Again, Todds software is incredible...and yes for a classroom game or party its fine...just for ME I was concerned about bringing in new software with 100 or so eyes on me in case something goes wrong.

And no offense, but again, you're a game show guy man, you know the ins and ous of Feud...I seriously doubt with a cheat sheet and 1/2 hr of "training" you can get an oridinary person to do this with MINE OR TODDS program.  Just my opinion.

My side's with Mr. Ricci. Even if the keystrokes are simple, they might not understand why you have one strike that's centered and why you use it and stuff like that. I do have the luxury of having friends around who watch the shows and get some of it, but these same friends have helped me with presentations before, and things went wrong.

For example, here's dialogue from a live MGHS that my friend co-hosted.

"This game's worth $300. What is the capi-"

*me whispering* "They didn't pick a square."

Then he proceeded to tell the star that his answer was right or wrong without agree/disagree. I know, I should've "trained" him more, but I thought I did well enough. Oops. Other friends didn't do stuff like correctly "ring the buzzer when the clock hits zero" (my directions in quotes) or "ring the bell when I turn the master key."

I see your points, gentlemen, but I still don't agree with them. And I think that's where this discussion will have to settle. And that's fine. :)
