An Overhaul Is Afoot for Game Show

That's the one sentence I find even a LITTLE hope in. Maybe we'll see some vault stuff in those daytime hours, but fat chance......

I had the same thought...at least we'll still have daytime and maybe we'll get to see some cool stuff from the vaults. Dunno...probably just the standards...MG, FF and PYL.
I think the worst part is for originals like RR and Whammy! It sure sounds like they're out for sure now. I have a feeling they'll keep Lingo though.
Depressing...but the network is still alive at least. Some game shows are certainly better than none.

Well, that pretty much salts it away for me. I never catch GSN in the daytime, only primetime, evening and late night (PST).
If their goal was to drive away longtime loyal viewers like myself, they've picked an excellent strategy. They'll keep the diehards and the tape traders (but that's a small number), as well as the unemployed and the stay at home moms and dads.
Throwing away years of hard fought identity, brand awareness and viewer loyalty seems like a really poor idea.
But on the bright side, this likely means I'll have a free spot in my 10 pack of cable channels where I can choose a substitute.

Here's a case where my second-shift (4 p.m. to midnight) work schedule comes in handy. The only time I watch (or record) GSN right now anyhow is during the daytime. Well, except for the marathons and specials (like the Larson doc).
What they show in the morning and early afternoon is more than enough to feed my game-show need (along with TPiR and the syndies).
So if the "new" daytime lineup isn't that much different from the "old," then I doubt I'm going to notice much of a difference.

Heh heh. I can't see the word "afoot" without thinking of SNL's Celebrity J! sketches: "The game is afoot, Trebek!"
