Game Show Network Spreads Yuletide Cheer With Holiday Themed Programming

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Game Show Network (GSN) is getting into the holiday spirit with festive holiday episodes of classic and original game shows on Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.

Celebrate the holidays, heat up some apple cider and relax during the holiday madness with a dose of festive spirit, GSN-style. Stroll down memory lane with FAMILY FEUD'S Richard Dawson and MATCH GAME'S Gene Rayburn and relive the funky set decorations and polyester suits. On New Years Eve, viewers don't have to wait until midnight to see Dick Clark, they can catch him in an all day marathon of $100K PYRAMID. On New Years Day, tune in to see our LINGO marathon, featuring all original shows shot in Holland. Our special holiday schedule is as follows:

     December 25 (All Times Eastern)
     12:00PM - 5:00PM    FAMILY FEUD holiday themed programming marathon

     5:00PM              TO TELL THE TRUTH -- Set dressed up in holiday theme.

     5:30 PM             FRIEND OR FOE? -- Set dressed up in holiday theme.

     6:00PM              RUSSIAN ROULETTE -- Set decorated with snowman,
                         snowflakes, candy canes and snow!  Contestants dress
                         up too.

     6:30PM              LINGO -- Set decorated in Christmas theme with
                         contestants dressed as Santa, Mrs. Claus and Elves.

     7:00PM              WEAKEST LINK -- Contestants dressed up in Christmas
                         costumes.

     8:00PM - 12:00AM    MATCH GAME "Merry Blank-a-Thon" -- Back -to-back
                         episodes of the popular fill-in-the-blank classic
                         series.

     December 31
     9:00AM - 12:00AM    $100K PYRAMID marathon featuring tournament play.

     January 1
     2:00PM - 12AM       10 hours of LINGO marathon, featuring original shows
                         shot in  Holland.

 I suspect the Pyramid marathon will be all 1987-88 season tourneys.  "original shows shot in Holland" for Lingo? Will we be treated to the actual Dutch version of the show? This doesn't sound too bad.

 You are fooling yourself if you think you are getting anything other than the first set of 16 or 20 or however many shows that they did in the Holland studio with US expats as contestants.

TV Favorites:
GSN did 20 episodes of Lingo for the first season.

Ahhh yes, the 1st Lingo eps.
 
I never got these episodes on tape the 1st time(s) they showed them so I may do that this time around. It will be interesting to see these again and see how far the show has come set-wise.

Speaking of Lingo, if they keep showing new episodes twice a night, the new 65 will be gone quickly!
