Never mind the child porn problems; the song sucks.

Not that I like the overloud instrumentals (well, the crowd goes oh, oh, oh to them) the NHL arenas use....

That can easily be said by people in the 1930s re: swing music, in the 50s regarding rock & roll, in the 80s with popular music of that era, in the 90s with grunge... I'm sure there will be something 30 years from now that will make people who currently like hip-hop/rap cringe.

I'm looking forward to the days (in the not too distant future) when people in assisted living/senior centers will have their singalongs based on music by the Doors and Led Zeppelin.  We had discussed this impending event on college radio back in the mid 80's and said it would be fun to see the then 70 and 80 year olds flirting with each other by saying "Come on baby, light my fire".

Pop music is called that because it's popular at the time. I'm not a drinker and I'm not interested in having children, so songs that are about drinking and sex irritate me, and I prefer to not listen to it.

There are things that I don't like that make people scratch their head. That works the other way too. If Mark doesn't like the various trappings of the NBA, that's his deal; he's free to not watch, as much as other people are free to watch, or say "I'm really not keen about that part, but I like the rest enough to deal with it."

My comment had nothing to do with the NBA. Mark made a comment about "today's music" not qualifying as such 30 years ago, and my response was related to the quoted text in my earlier post.

...and we're all familiar with the definition of "pop music."
