Both of them are highly forgettable. I don't remember if Peer Pressure, which accompanied Click in many markets, was renewed for a season 2....[/quote]

I wouldn't call Kwik Witz a game show.  It was semi if not significantly scripted.

I must respectfully disagree. I stick with Kwik Witz being a game show despite the fact that unlike Whose Line Is It Anyway the "humor" was rehearsed in advance.

For some reason, I remember a show for young people, with "Pressure" in the title, and the last round was a timed event where whoever got five right faster won, and the time was shown as a beaker filling up. Whether that was related or not, I have no idea.

I, too, remember that show.  It was called "Pressure 1" (they retitled Peer Pressure "Pressure 2" as a result) and other than that final speed round, I remember nothing more than that, other than it being a standard-fare quiz show (easily forgettable).

/was on at 7 on Saturday mornings in 1999-2000 in Chicago
//can't believe I was 15 and actually set my alarm to get up and watch both...

Would "Bowling For Dollars" qualify, or does it have to be the exact same show/hosts/players across the country??

No and yes. But that's an interesting show to bring up. How many other formats were licensed to markets for local production as this show was?

I Know of 2:

-- It's Academic (Challenge)
-- Let's Go To The Races (Sponsored by Pick N Pay Supermarkets in Cleveland, but I believe that only lasted one season).

I don't think there was any local production on Let's Go to the Races.  As I remember it, there weren't any references within the show to the local sponsor.  It's been a very long time. of course, and my memory could be dodgy.

Starring Larry Morrow!! Yes, I think the show only ran during the summer of 1982. Was it on Channel 43 or 61?

I remember a simular promo with National in Chicago during the early 70's or late 60's.

Definitely WUAB-43...I thought the show was on in the late 70s, meaning it ran during the time that Channel 61 was off the air between the days of WKBF-61 (The original Channel 61) and WCLQ-61 (Independent-turned-HSC-turned-Univision).

Speaking of WCLQ, another licensed-to-local-market show would have been the TV-POW!!! format dubbed "Video Arcade" on Channel 61, and hosted by the hot babe of the day Candy Cramer (I seemed to always have my joystick with me when Candy was on in the afternoon, but that's another story).
