My use of "when" instead of "if" wasn't intended to come off as entitlement, but rather as optimism. Is it wrong to feel confident about my chances?

And as I've indicated, almost no one that I know of has ever referred to my real-life behavior with "obnoxious" or any synonym of the same. And it's not like I'm going to pull a Raymond Taylor and demand that Vanna put those L's up there, scream each puzzle answer as if I were Gerard "This! Is! SPARTA!!" Butler, then spend every waking hour hanging around Culver City, trying to get into the studio.

Matt O -- I knew you had dug up a source, but I couldn't find where you had shown it to me, and couldn't find it myself amid all the Google hits. That one is particularly convincing; among it, Bob Harris' book and a couple other sources I found, we've actually got something now. Since it's currently at deletion review, I have asked the voters in that discussion what they think of the draft I'm working on. One user has already said that my draft looks good, and the article should be re-created. So yes, I am working not just on getting the GSC article back, but also on improving it.

This is a good and valiant step in the right direction, and even though I don't know how Wikipedia works, I stumbled through enough to say so on your discussion page.

A million thank yous for posting information on The Confidence Game with Jim MacKrell! As luck would have it, that pilot was one that I was specifically trying to get more information on. Count me as surprised to see yet another unsold Jim Peck pilot with The Waiting Game. Didn't even know there was such a pilot (then again, how many people DID?)

Good stuff. I especially enjoy your obscure references, like the Donato's Pizza having a home game. Overall, I'm amazed that you can still find all these pilots to dig up and summarize.

I remember a few times seeing Tom Kelly subbing for Monty Hall on Let's Make a Deal around the same year this pilot was taped.

I wonder if "The Beautiful Barbara," was Barbara Lyons, who filled in for Carol Merrill on LMAD (I'd only seen one episode like that, on GSN.)

This helps put some pieces together. 10 years ago, Jim MacKrell was nice enough to take an hour or more of his time to chat with me (he had seen my Celebrity Sweepstakes site and was very definitive the celebrities were not fed the answers in advance). He noted he knew that Sweepstakes was coming to a close when he was offered this pilot (which, you'll notice, taped the same week Sweepstakes ended). It was not good news, as he and his wife had just bought a new and larger house under the assumption the show would be running awhile longer.

Next answer: no, we've lost touch. Exchanged a few e-mails after that, but I think his wife took ill and he was spending most of his time with her.
