CBS @ 75; An NBC Clip?
Ian Wallis:
--- Quote ---If they can find the CBS run of "The Joker's Wild", originally thought to be long-lost, they should also be able to find "Gambit".
--- End quote ---
While I hope they still exist somewhere, even if they were to find them would it do us any good? GSN probably wouldn't be interested in running them, so how would we ever see them?
Having said that, there might be hope of at least a portion of the run still being around...according to old TVGuides I have, a few stations did air repeats in the late '70s, including WPIX. Unfortunatly I missed the game show part of the special (I'd like to eventuallly see it somehow), but if they used a clip from NBC, that could mean that the NBC version still exists.
Jimmy Owen:
I wonder if CBS contacted Nick Nicholson or Roger Muir when the network found the "Spin-Off" tapes? These shows should exist if only because no one reuses two inch quad tapes anymore. I'm hoping Nick was given those 65 huge blue plastic boxes of tapes and has them safely stored somewhere at his house!

I spotted the clip, but didn't know it was from the Rodeo Drive pilot. They picked a very obscure show to show a clip from, I'll say that.

They showed a clip from Las Vegas Gambit which was on NBC! Even though Gambit was on CBS, the set was definately Las Vegas.
Looks like NBC should send them a thank you note! [/quote]
That LV Gambit clip, as well as the Peter T. clip, came from the NBC Carl Reiner-hosted 1984 "Wonderful GS moments special", which featured a clip from a CBS show, namely PYL.

It is possible that whomever syndicated those Gambit reruns would still have them in a vault someplace. We know where the LV Gambit clip came from. Perhaps MGM does have some or all of either Gambit version out there, but again, would GSN be interested in airing them(but there is that upcoming Gambling cable channel, too?)
