yes it is NOT mac friendly I'm sorry to say.  Same issues here.

I'm happily watching the museum's 1967 episode of Concentration on my Mac at the moment, but I cheated by viewing the frame source, grabbing the URL that began with "mms:", and opening that directly from my old copy of Windows Media Player.

Yes, it's ugly, but if you're on a Mac, well, at least it seems to work.

I did that to share some Johnny Cash Show files with some friends of mine on another message board..They have to copy/paste into their own browsers but it seems to work..
It's not certain these would still be available now, though there is no reason there wouldnt be..
Not everything that's in the collection is digitized and available for viewing now.  (I'm not saying that officially, only as a volunteer who spends every Monday morning cataloging the archives.)  Still, there's a lot of great stuff that is ready to watch.

Hardly in line with their alleged mission to "collect, preserve, and present historic and contemporary radio and television content...".
Um, in what way is that not "contemporary?"
I think petek's complaining about how it isn't from the original broadcast.

I'm sure he is. My question stands.

Something is really weird with It Takes Two.  The screen ratio seems to be 10:9, cutting off a little bit of a the bottom and a significant part of the right.  I dorked with the HTML a bit to get it to a 3:2 ratio, albeit stretched it doesn't at least cut off the right side of the screen.  4:3 still caused a cut off.

Contemporary = "Deal or No Deal"  Historic = "Super Password"

I don't expect them to have original broadcasts but for cryin' out loud they should
be uncut.  Card Sharks, Weakest Link, and Family Feud, to name a few more, are
similar quality... I bet they just TIVOd a day of GSN and called it "preservation".

Um, you're serious, aren't you.

Historic = I've Got A Secret. Historic = Beat The Clock. Historic = Winner Take All. Super Password is nowhere CLOSE to that echelon.

The crew disapproves of your shenanigans.

Matter of semantics. If you haven't seen it and can't see it any more, it's historic, meaning it's part of history.

I won't dispute whether using historic as meaning "something that should go down in history" applies in this case and I can see that point regarding relative merits of shows. In a way, everything's historic if it is from the past and shows us something of our history. What's My Line is the best example of this, but Super Password does show us something of our history; to wit, that at one point in our culture, Bert Convy was considered suitable to host a difficult word game.
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

There are quite a few good things in the Radio section, too. They include Break The Bank, Stop The Music, Take It Or Leave It and many others.

They even have a Championship Bowling TV show from 1968-In color even..

Sort of a poor man's syndicated "Pro Bowlers Tour"

Seriously-They do have a lot from Radio..As far as "preservation", they have what they have, and what they have is good, fior the most part..

Touche'..Well said Tom..

While you dont "expect" them to have original broadcasts..They have hundreds of orginal broadcasts of mostly all TV and radio genres..Considering that most of what is offered here (and on sites like YouTube, Internet Archive, etc.) Wouldnt have been possible till the last few years, Dont you think we ought to be grateful for what we do have?

Some people don't have GSN, but remember Super Password.  Ever think of that?
