Little Big Brother:

You might need to ask Ariana's friend Al Franken that ;-)

I can't imagine that TPiR has any kind of exclusive rights to the Pricedown font.

SO not true.  The police don't have to go after every speeder, the RIAA doesn't have to go after every illegal downloader.

My impression is that it might in this case, although using copyrighted music without permission is tricky business, especially these days.

At any rate, the \"quiz\" link is no longer on Arianna's site.  I guess it's possible somebody put up a stink, but my guess is that since she's decided she's no longer a candidate, that particular game wasn't necessary.

 I should clarify.

If they go after one, it makes sense to go after the others. Doesn't make sense to go just after one.

Point taken.

Matt Ottinger:
Cool.  I heard once that Playboy had somebody in their legal department whose only job was to patrol the internet, look for copyright infringements (typically nudie scans) and threaten the offending webmaster.

In the first place, imagine whispering THAT job to John Daly!  But more to your original point, I wonder where the break-even point for something like that is.  I mean, how does a company decide which copyright offenses are worth going after, and which are allowed to slide?  A few small-potatoes examples have been mentioned here at the Forum in the last few days, including that public-access Family Feud ripoff.  But where are the BIG-potatoes examples?
