It's something that may be beyond the control of the Price staffers.  They probably have a pre-conceived notion of who might be a candidate.  Rosie wasn't available before and her show was gaining in ratings against Price.  I don't think she would have left "The View" unless something like Price became available.  Let's face it, in the demographics that count, Rosie was beating Price.  This is not a rumor, Rosie wants the job.  How much input did the Price staff have in choosing Ricki Lake?  If I were NBC, I'd make a deal with Rosie for an 11am show; be it game or talk, they could make inroads on Price and View.

NBC's already locked into a fourth hour of "Today" at 11 a.m.  I don't think they can get out of it.
If I were Ritch Colbert at Program Partners, I'd be trying to woo Rosie as much as I can.  I think she'd like the idea of working for a Ma-and-Pa syndicator not part of a media conglomerate and a Rosie show could, along with "Crosswords," do for his company what "Wheel" (and Oprah) did for King World.
