I agree that she's not right for TPIR, but she'd be great for Match Game.  Maybe CBS will reclaim the 10 AM hour and air Match Game.  I can dream, can't I?

I don't think you'd get Wolpert away from that lucrative screenwriting career - he's probably made a mint off "Pirates of the Carribean" by now and really doesn't need to "work" any more.
Having dealt with him a few times, my impression is that he'd do it.

I could see Roger Dobkowitz moving into an executive's position, because he has the track record of 35 continuous years of service to the show and Fremantle ought to reward that somehow.
Possibly.  I could also see him getting squeezed out by Fremantle execs intent on changing the show despite Roger's objections.  They may also want to replace him with a 20-something "show runner" who'll work for half his salary.

Af if it were ever to come to pass, I'd hope he'd get to be creative on the showcase themes and spoofs again.

/"Pirates of Marina del Rey" showcase, anyone??

I know I'm in the minority, but I disagree.

I think she'd be great for the show. Or hosting a revival of Match Game.

Seriously.

I agree.

Somehow I don't see this.  What I do see is this:

I don't see why he couldn't at least try to have it both ways.  Screenwriting isn't necessarily a full-time job, and if Wolpert enjoyed working with TPIR and the opportunity presents itself for him to return...

This may be off-the-board, but does anyone see Mr. Ilagan climbing the corporate ladder in this situation?

Yeah, last time he surfaced, he was over at Fox Reality.

But even if he wasn't, no.

Considering the fire and brimstone Rosie whipped on on The View today (5/23), Dave Price will host Jeopardy before Rosie gets the TPIR gig.

The link to the fight here.

Anybody wanna take bets on who does their last show first:  Bob or Rosie?
If we're going by first-run episode, whichever network rolls credits first past 11:57AM EDT on June 15.

Based on that, I got Rosie by 17 seconds.

Pity price. Whoever signs Rosie to a syndicated show (and you know someone is going to), will put her up against the cluckers on the View, and TPIR2.0 ..... and she'll do very well against them both.

Anyone wanna take bets on how many more crappy, crappy poems Rosie ends up writing out of all of this?

I don't follow The View, but I was kinda intrigued by this once I though it up....

Could all of this be a ratings ploy for ABC?  When I looked up (on Wiki) a timeline of events of all the Rosie blowups ("Ching/Chong" incident 12/5, Donald starting 12/20, Iranian seizure 3/26, etc), they all come after a certain game show host's retirement announcement...and it's all been escalating now that we are closer to Bob's end.   I would want to hope it's just coincidence.

This is the rumor that will not die.

She never was in serious contention and several Price staffers were mentioning it as well.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS
