Ten prime examples of the Bickersons in action described in this press release:

I'll let the rest of you fill in the details on the episodes they're airing.

Can't say that I understand the need for this.  It's quite a stretch to say that any of these are really worthy of "Best Of" recognition - wasn't the "Bad Taste", "Worst Answer". etc. award given at least once a week?

The 1976 "western clothes" episode might be the one where Bill Anderson sang a tribute (of sorts) to Debralee Scott, with Brett and CNR singing backup (of sorts).  It's really not that funny without the backstory that, being the final episode of the week, everyone was probably pretty well in the bag.

For my money, I'd much prefer that they continue running MG74 in order.  They are about 1/3 of the way through the gap of 27 weeks that GSN skipped over last July.  At the present pace of 14 shows a week, they'd air the last skipped episode in mid-March... unless the 11 PM MG hour is dropped before then, as I thought I read it was going to be?

What started as a guest appearance for Somers with her husband,
Minor quibble:  Either this was supposed to refer to a guest appearance on The Odd Couple, or they've misstated the circumstances of her first appearance on MG.  Klugman appeared on the premiere week, and Brett appeared the third week, but they were not together in her first appearance on the show (which recently aired).

True this. Jack agreed to appear if he was promised his wife would be given a chance to be on the panel during a future week. At the time, Brett was about to begin a featured role on The New Perry Mason ("new" because the "old" one was solving crimes on another network) as Perry's secretary.

Where do you think you saw that?  I haven't seen anything on that, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen.

I was wondering of the 'Best Of' week is an indicator that the reruns are showing signs of life. But yes I thought 'I've Got A Secrert' is comming here  in April.

As an aside, if GSN really wanted to do a 70's hour bring out '20,000 Pyramid' or 'Tattletales'  etc. for a couple of weeks in the second half hour, or the entire hour for that matter.

As if the slates and other extras seen on That 70s Hour weren't cool enough, GSN now has a That 70s Hour page on their website, which includes an episode guide.  I have to give GSN praise for all this - they haven't given this much attention to a classic in a LONG time.

Anyway, the episode guide indicates that That 70s Hour will have its swan song on April 2, with episode 278 (taped on 7/26/74).   Is this the last of the skipped MG74 episodes?

I'm not so sure that we should consider That 70's Hour a placeholder. I mean, they went to all the trouble to air the slates and to have bumpers made just for that show. Seems to me like they put too much into a show that will translate into a placeholder.

One could assume that the new IGaS could air in a different timeslot, or That 70's Hour might move to a different timeslot.

The skipped episodes were #128 thru #260.  So barring any further preemptions, they should get through them all.  (It has only been in the last couple of weeks that the 70's Hour was aired 7 nights a week... before that it was often pre-empted for poker shows and such.)

However by my math, if the 70's Hour ended on April 2 and there are no further preemptions, they should get to episode #285.  (Last night was 182 and 183.)  I will have to look at their guide and see where the problem is.

Edited to add: Their guide also shows preemptions of the entire hour on 2/25, 3/2, 3/15, and 3/17; and preemption of the first half-hour only on 3/18.

It seems that GSN has been kind enough to provide the slates for the "Brett vs. Charles" shows (at least the two on Monday), as they have so far for the MG74 in-sequence eps.

For the interested, here are Monday's episode numbers and VTR dates:
11:00p- MG76  #820  VTR 9-18-76
11:30p- MG78  #1228  VTR 4-29-78

Ah, yes, from the "Richard refuses to smile" week (I think this ep was two shows later).

Here are Tuesday night's episode numbers and VTR dates:
11:00- MG75  #0471  VTR 5-5-75
11:30- MG74  #0277  VTR 7-26-74

In the 75 show, I saw a rule enforced that I really don't remember seeing before (or perhaps I had forgotten it).  After the contestant won the audience match, Gene told her that, since last time she did the head-to-head match with Richard, "the rule says you can't choose the same person twice", and she chose Brett instead.  How long did this rule last?  Was this the first attempt to stop everyone from constantly trying to match Richard, before the Star Wheel?

Four weeks, from #461 thru #480.  These episodes last aired Oct-Nov 2003.
