"Bicentennial Funk" composer?

Do we have solid information as to the name of the composer of "Bicentennial Funk", or is Score Productions the closest we have?

Good point. A lot of sites like Wikipedia and like that are crediting this composition to Bob Cobert. And there's no way he was the composer of this one.

I have never run across a composer attribute for this one, but it sounds like it could have come from Sheila Cole.

And yea, we wish for Xmas for the complete version with the flute/brass vamps, not the hatchet job we got from you-know-who and continue to get on some sites...

I THINK I may have seen Walt Levinsky's name attached to this one.

Which brings me to the question I forgot to ask, which I think you just answered...does the cleanest known MP3 version of this in fact cut off at the end?

What I'm looking for is something solid so I can tag the MP3 I have. If "I think" is as close as we can get (with no offense intended to Chief-O), that's fine, I'll just credit it to Score.

I had a copy of said hatchet job long before you-know-you released it (I got it from someone else mind you) and it's sourced from a Score tape, so they are the ones to blame for that.

So you're saying no clean copy exists at current? I'm fine with that if so, I just want to know that so I don't bother searching for something that isn't out there. :)

Unless someone has a contact at Score, then that's correct.  What I don't get is why Score would send such butchered copies out on their tapes? (For those of you who don't know, Score's policy on releasing music was much different in the 1980s.  All you had to do was write or call them asking for a certain piece of music and they'd promptly send you a cassette.)

What happened w/the Password '75 theme was that it was put at the end of a tape that contained several themes/cues...the original source was supposed to get a complete copy, but that STILL hasn't happened some 8 yrs later...

Actually, it preceded the "Money Maze" win music on that particular tape, because you can hear the end of the "Funk" on some copies of that cue, along with one bass lick before the band starts.

Even with the hatchet job from Y-K-W, Chris, you still should have enough to go on.
