NBC doesn't make game shows; production companies do.

Good point Randy about NBC screwing up game shows.  That makes me wonder when's the last time NBC had a really good game show in primetime.  Something tells me it was the late 60's with the original Hollywood Squares.

Speaking of switching networks, I've seen a few cases where shows switch networks due to lackluster ratings.  But this is the first that I know of where NBC "acquires" a show that was originally tagged with ABC before it was greenlit as a series.  I guess there was some "wheeling & dealing" with the production company involved in this.

Not only is it part TH & part LMAD, but it might feature a dash of "Say WHen" into the mix.  Should be intresting to see how this plays out.

To be honest, most Endemol shows work along the same lines, by taking simple, solid gameplay ideas and not messing them up. They are good shows, but can't help but feel a bit soulless.

The quiz element really is nothing to write home about, judging by all the other versions I've seen.

Fred Allen described the job of a network executive thus (paraphrasing): He comes in at 9 am and finds a molehill on his desk. He then has eight hours to turn it into a mountain.

Right you are. It's called formula TV.

Let me pose this question: What about this show is going to change from one week to the next besides the contestants and the locations of the cheques in the boxes?

I still say "Endemol" sounds like a brand of cough syrup.

It sounds like a mass-suicide cult. Instead of "I'm going to end it all", they say "We're going to end 'em all."

I seriously always thought it sounded like something you'd find on the feminine products aisle. And now to borrow from Lemon:

"Ladies, got cramps? Endemol!"

"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

"Have you been injured in a local Nordstrom's recently? Call the law offices of Hobbs and Hoobs today. Do your part. Endemol."

...Wow, that was terrible.

Very little, probably. But it is a format which seems to have proven itself in plenty of markets whether or not it changes from week to week.

Needless to say, I'm sure they'll find some way to mess it up.

This is like "Punch a Bunch" on a grander scale.  There is seemingly nothing new under the sun.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

But NBC decides whether to take 30 minutes of game show play and either turn it into a 22-minute fast-paced show or milk it into a 44-minute slow-motion Chinese water torture.

If I remember correctly, the aussie was both a half hour show (one game contained), or a ninety minute prime time show, with a little less than two games, but also had the quiz element... Since they've already announced there won't be a quiz, I would think a half hour game would be smart (WOULD be smart), maybe doing two to fill the hour...

I know i'm going to sound like the little children on this board, but let's try to reserve pans for DoND until it actually airs, Okay? Let's accentuate the positive and be grateful that another game show is entering prime time waters....and that maybe some success will lead to more....

WHAT? Billy Bush is hosting? Aw, F-it.....

I dunno.  Sounds like Endemol could "end 'em all" as far as game shows.
