How is it each ep. of $20,000 Pyramid had three different sets of guests, when it was a network show?
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

27's episode was the regular airing; 13's and 48's were delayed. 13's was a week behind, I believe, and 48's were two weeks behind, as it aired for a full two weeks after June 27.

I'm guessing the smaller stations tapped into another station for their net feed and if their usual source didn't air the show, they had to bicycle tapes.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Another victim of The Dreaded Noon Slot!

I wonder if Channel 48 was having tapes of "Pyramid" recorded for them by Channel 6.  I don't think the networks were distributing their programming by satellite yet in 1980, so I assume Channel 48 wouldn't have had a direct hook-up to the ABC network.

A little further back-- but here's a window back to the choices I had when I was coming home from school...

Aw, come on, what's the fun of that? You didn't type any of them out! Sheer laziness.

I'm kidding, of course, that's a much easier way to do it :) My interest in that was seeing what's in color and what's not.

I noticed a few game shows on ABC that weren't in color:
11:00 Supermarket Sweep
11:30 One in a Million
12:00 Everybody's Talking

I wonder why they weren't colorcast?

Five channels?!  And Today is only 60 minutes?!  Something's wrong with that TV Guide.

Seriously, which market is that from?  I could tell what Channel 2 is ABC, 6 is CBS, 8 is NBC, 10 is probably NET (the future PBS) and 12 might be independent--something we haven't seen a lot of since UPN and The WB signed on.

It's from Portland, Oregon. KPTV-12 was an independent station from the mid-60s until 1995 when they switched to UPN.

...although KPTV (ch 12) was, for a time, actually the ABC affiliate in the area... until 1964, when KATU (ch 2) took over the network hosting duties, and 12 went independent.

For a time, 12 was a Chris-Craft station... those interested can see more if the station's history here:

http://kptv.home.comcast.net/History/history.htm

And, appropos of nothing in particular, the interstitial music I remember most from their independent days were the use of "Alley Cat" for one of the movie presentations, and an instrumental version of "Sugar Shack" that was used for something else that I can't quite think of at the moment.

Sorry to veer wildly off topic, but once those memories flood back, it's tough to control 'em.   :)

Those three shows still aired in black and white because ABC wasn't as much into color as CBS and [particularly] NBC.  ABC wasn't called the "Almost Broadcasting Company" for nothing back then, you know.

Wow, '67 was a great year for games. I used to drive my family nuts when school was out, because I'd be glued to the couch most of the day watching 'em!

Poor Mom could hardly get a soap in edge-of-night-wise.

ABC thought it was too expensive to broadcast in color back then.  Even when they had daytime repeats of "Bewitched" and "The Fugitive", they aired the color episodes in black and white.  It wasn't until early 1970 when their entire daytime lineup was in color.

Back in the "olden" days, quite a few NBC affiliates, especially in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, only carried one hour of "Today."

On the color/B&W subject, note that Channel 8 is delaying "Let's Make a Deal" (to 4:30), and as such, they're airing it in black-and-white.  I'm not sure what time it actually aired on NBC's Pacific time zone schedule -- it may well have been 3:00, because everything else looks like it's in pattern.  On the East Coast, it aired at 1:30.  (And the "To Be Announced" at 4:55 is because, like "Snap Judgement" and "Eye Guess," "LMAD" was then a 25-minute show followed by an NBC newscast.)
