It's not even the lowest in the Toss Up puzzles era. I think the lowest maingame total in the Toss Up era is the elderly lady who won the $100K in the bonus round a couple of years ago. She won only $5500 in the maingame.

In Zach's defense (wow...hell is freezing over), Wheel, unlike TPIR and J!, has had continuity since the premiere in 1975.  Granted, the daytime version may no longer be in production, but it was when the current syndie version premiered, therefore, it is indeed continuity.

That could be expected given the $50 and $75 spaces on the Wheel in the first two rounds at the time.

There was a Syndie WOF in 1984 with final scores something like $550-$250-$600.

And your defense is right. I do realize Zach was correct for the fact that Wheel has been continuous in one way or another since 1975. I guess the point I was making would be that doing a 30th anniversary might confuse folks other than us, esp. since the syndie version had their "20th anniversary" season in 2002.

Especially most people our age.  I bet you that if I were to tell a Wheel fan who was born after 1981 that Chuck Woolery once hosted WOF, I'd get "What?  You're kidding me!  That guy from Dating Game and Love Connection (slight chance he'd be a fan of Lingo) hosted Wheel of Fortune?"  I'd probably be "Yes, and some guy named Jim Lange hosted The Dating Game long before Woolery did."

I was born at the tail end of '81, and I went all of my pre-adult life enjoying both Wheel and Scrabble without knowing that Woolery hosted the former. So, yeah.

Of course, it's not like Woolery didn't refer to it on SCRABBLE.  I've mentioned before the April Fool's joke he pulled in 1989 by reciting his WoF opening spiel instead of SCRABBLE's (complete with the WHEEL "first look at puzzle" SFX).

But one time, Woolery read this clue:  "Vanna White will let you buy them for a price."  Once the answer "vowels" was revealed, Woolery looked off-stage (assuming he was talking to producer Gary Johnson) and asked, "Is it still $250 for a vowel?  At least it was when I did 'Wheel.'"
