[quote name=\'Jimmy Owen\' date=\'Dec 6 2004, 08:41 PM\']How bout making it like one of those card tournaments and just film people playing regulation "Scrabble" at a casino for obscenely high stakes.  You could have Stuart Scott or Matt V. to do commentary.

That is possible. Two pilots were done in early 2003 for a show called the Scrabble Challenge, one with John O'Hurley and one with Kennedy(Friend or Foe host, not Tom). That show was slated to play a bit more like the board game than the 1984-90 and 1993 versions did, but the show did not sell to GSN. ESPN2 has for the last two years had a one hour special on a Sunday afternoon chronicling the finals of the National Scrabble Championship. Does anyone know if they did decent enough in the ratings?
