Game Show TV Milestone Of The Day
« on: March 31, 2004, 12:32:58 PM »
MARCH 31, 1989

Mark Goodson's The New Card Sharks, hosted by Bob Eubanks and featuring models Susannah Williams and Lacey Pemberton, went on to its reward after 3 years on CBS Daytime. In an emotional moment which was reminiscent of that of the December 20, 1974 ABC series finale of The Newlywed Game, Bob was barely able to keep his composure as, in the finale's fading minutes, he talked about the wonderful relationships he made with the show's staff, and included a special tribute to departed staff member Claire Trazenfeld (who also worked on the original NBC version of CS). TNCS was replaced on CBS the following Monday by another Mark Goodson production: a new version of Now You See It emceed by Chuck Henry.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Hmmm...I wasn't aware the show was ever called "The New Card Sharks".

AFAIK, Bob only used the full title once or twice.  Basically, it's been "New" just in print ads.
