More Price Is Right Tickets available on eBay. But once again he probably won't sell them since he's way over the Actual Retail price. This guy just doesn't give up. The funniest part is, in this ad he listed just about everything the back of the ticket says (EXCEPT) that they are not to be sold. Gee, how did he conveniently happen to miss that part?    WHAT A DOLT!

It becomes a little less funny when you check up on the guy's feedback, and you see that this isn't his first attempt at this sort of thing:

\"Recv'd tickets quickly as advertised.\"
\"Recvd tickets as advertised\"
\"nice..paid too much for a deal that can be gotten freeBut not sellers fault\"

On top of this, you look at his name, \"VegasCompGuy\", and look at some of the auctions, and it becomes obvious, this guy is selling the comps that the casinos give him for gambling in Vegas. Thing is, the reasons the casinos comp him is because they want HIS action, not for him to give 'em away. I wonder what they would think to find out that this guy is making money from their \"goodwill\"...

Of course, people are buying, so he can't be THAT much of a dolt...

-----------------

No I'm pretty sure he's still a Dolt. He's just a dolt who gets lucky every once in a while. :-)

Then again maybe I fault the guy to much. Perhaps he's some old guy who doesn't even watch the show and has no idea that TV tickets are free. Perhaps he does think that people have to pay for them? Then again he did say he copied a bunch of that information listed from a website. You would think that he would of been able to put two and two together and figure out that the tickets are all complimentary to begin with.

It's silly for me to start making excuses for the guy. The reality is that he's wrong to sell them. Did you ever see that Leave It To Beaver episode where the water department shut off all the water in the neighborhood one afternoon so they could do some work on the pipes? Beaver found out about this ahead of time and decided to bottle up all the water he could and then sell it to the neighbors who needed it. He even tried to sell his MOM some so she could cook. I think I kind of feel like Beavers parents right now. Kind of upset that the guy is doing it, but at the same time I'm trying to be as understanding as possible.

If he is successful in selling tickets like this, I now realize how 150,000 people are now making their livings from just selling stuff on eBay! (Number quoted from recent News Source).  I guess there are people out there who really will buy anything.

Just because I'm grumpy this morning, and the 1970 Milwaukee Bucks program I put on eBay didn't sell, I think I may contact eBay and complain. Yes, I think I will. Just to be a jerk.

Update: When I submitted the info to eBay, a page came up that said it was already investigating the matter. I sent them a complaint anyway.

Nope, the guy knows the tickets can be gotten for free and even states it in his auction description:

Payment reimburses me for my time and efforts locating these tickets only - the actual tickets are provided FREE. Shipping is $1 via USPS First class mail.

His ad should be pulled regardless of how it's written, it's a scam in a sense.

150,000 might be doing it, but my guess is only a fraction of them are doing it successfully.  There was a time when eBay was a seller's market, but it's a lot harder today to find people who still *desperately* need the stuff in your basement.

As for ticket boy, less than half of his auctions see any action at all, and he's made less than a hundred bucks doing this over the last month.  Hardly seems worth the effort, and definitely doesn't seem worth us getting too worked up over it.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Actually, that means that he knows he's not supposed to resell them. It's similar to the auctions that say \"Bid on this shiny rock, and I'll throw in 5 movies I taped in the theater,\" except that those auctions are started by the deeply stupid.

First of all, is mailing a SASE to CBS and waiting a few weeks really worth the $10?

Also, this same person is now offering them for $10 because he knows he can't sell them for $100, as it was in the previous auction.

(By the way, that person has also stolen the $5 DSW graphic from a Price Is Right site.)

Also, as for actually paying for another item, and not the illicit material, I've seen people at the local malls selling bootleg DJ mix CDs for about $15 each, though they mention that you're paying for the case they came in, not the DVD itself, in hopes of warding off the lawsuits.

Slightly OT: speaking of silly eBay auctions, I saw on the news this morning that the world's largest krinkle cut french fry went for $200 (!) yesterday.  6.5 inches in length, IIRC.

Cheers,
