In fact, it sounds like they are actually going to audition on-the-spot for studio audience members to be contestants in the Hot Seat.
This can't look good for more local auditions, but I've reserved a couple dates in December.

It looks like they're also looking to cut their costs even deeper:
\"If you are selected to be a contestant and play the TV game you will be responsible for making your own travel arrangements and paying all costs associated with your travel to New York City including transportation, hotel, meals and any other expenses you incur. \"
Last season, they made all travel and lodging plans for you and paid for everything.

Not to mention the payout schedule: anything over $125K is paid in installments that take up to 20 years to complete.
