Starcade returns to G4 (or not)? Also, G4 returns.
« on: November 15, 2021, 07:12:33 PM »
Original: The revived video gaming channel will be cranking out multiple mini-marathons of Starcade in the wee hours, with the first one happening on 11/18 from 2:30-4am Eastern.

EDIT: Well, the scheduled marathons for the 18th and 19th simply did not happen. So who knows whether they ever will.

Yeah, it looks like those opening day marathons were just a mess on the schedule and they were still ironing out those schedule details those first few days. While the marathon block didn't air, one Starcade *did* air in the slot following the marathon, which was listed as a Viva La Dirt League. It was the first aired episode. Because of some weirdness with my guide and when I set up my series recordings, it didn't record the last few episodes which seem to be locked into a slot of 6am EST. I've since reset my series recording setting and hopefully, it'll record correctly for here on out. Going over the info present in those info blurbs (which include all the games available to pick, the three games picked in the first two rounds, and the contestant names), they've jumped to Geoff shows. Doesn't look like it'll air everyday, and somedays will have one episode while others will have two (and this morning will have three, apparently) but, when it does, it'll be at 6am.

It seems like G4's got their schedule together now, but we'll see if there are anymore quirks as they iron things out. So, great to see this show on TV again. It's such a soothing comfort watch.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.
