Cleveland Amory was a tough guy to please so Heatter-Quigley did their jobs. I remember his review of Let's Make a Deal the same year. Vicious.

That was my first thought, too. Having read how biting he was about other shows that are highly regarded, for him to say anything positive about Squares was surprising.
