If celebrity contestants were being booked on syndie Wheel, I'd agree with you.  But they aren't.
I have no doubt that they will sooner rather than later.

We don't know if ABC approached Wheel looking to expand their game offerings or if it was the other way around.
No we don’t. I guess just a coincidence.

And you're just speculating about Jeopardy.
I truly hope I’m wrong
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Jeopardy! dropped having celebs play well before Harry departed ... 2016 for the latter.

"I'll take Swords for 400."
"It's actually not Swords. These are words that begin with S."

Sorry, couldn't resist.

My apologies for bumping...

During WWTBAM tonight (12/6), ABC aired a new promo for Celebrity WOF. Said promo contains no footage, but does clarify two things:

  • There are eight episodes
  • During those eight episodes, twenty-four celebrities will compete

I was looking forward to this, but if it's the same three celebrities for the entire hour, it's just going to be slow. I am still looking forward to The Chase and The Hustler.

I could see them going the route of GOAT and doing two games across the hour with the highest winner taking on the bonus round.

I'll further add that we've got a glimpse at what some of the set will look like. Unsurprisingly, a warm feeling which reminds me of the GOAT event. The post comes from the first confirmed celeb for the season, SNL alum Kevin Nealon.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

I thought the container that holds prize wedges lost to a Bankrupt would be less bag-like. Nifty.

J! = Likely will have Celebrity contestants or themed shows with a new host

Just hijacking yetis thread for a second. For years , ever since the prime time revival of games back in 99, I always thought Celebrity Jeopardy would play better in primetime - ESPECIALLY more than Celebrity Wheel.

Now with everyone getting into the prime time game show biz again  (thanks ABC!), I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen - ONCE a new host is settled upon. No point in doing it now while it's in flux, and when it's in ink, why not coronate a new host with a prime time fun series?

Only 10 names out of 24 that I am unfamiliar with (and I'm a young fogey who watches almost no current sitcoms or dramas), so a pretty decent roster I'd say.
It was Bob Barker. He was eating a bologna and cheese-ball sandwich.

I only had to look up four (and two of those were people I knew of, just not by name).  Definitely a solid lineup.

ABC tweeted another promo that also features The Chase and The Hustler.

From what little I see, I really like the Wheel set. They seemed to have given it the same constellation treatment that Jeopardy! did for the GOAT Tournament. I also like that they ditched the video wall behind the contestants. The stock footage of some random beach or mountain view never really did it for me, nor did the color-coded backgrounds for each player.
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

Gee, what is with the ABC games and their phoned-in MIDI versions of the themes? M'eh.
