Don Pardo's FBI File
« on: January 25, 2020, 09:18:15 AM »
I don't how I got here, but due to the magic of FOIA and the internet you too can read Don Pardo's FBI file.  Nothing terribly exciting in it, he was going to work for Voice of America so he needed a background check.  Two items that stood out:

1. When he was a radio announcer in Kalamazoo, he earned 40 cents an hour.
2. He apparently spoke Polish and French

2. He apparently spoke Polish ...

At least that can be corroborated with this interview with NBC NY AD Bob Caminiti, the specific mention starts at 8:55 but there's a lot of good Pardo stories there including some OB:GSes for Three on a Match, Jackpot, and Mike Gargiulo.

I'm from Kalamazoo and did not know that Don Pardo was on radio here.
