Fall 2019 schedule changes
« on: August 13, 2019, 09:31:09 AM »
Yes, it's that time of year again...

The only schedule changes I know in my market thus far involve talk shows, and no game shows (yet).

However - any indication of what your local station is doing to plug the hole left by WWTBAM? Or of any other changes you know of in your market?

WPVI (6ABC Philadelphia) is placing Tamron Hall at 10am, displacing Rachel Ray.  They have been heavily advertising the show.

Millionaire and Right This Minute currently air in the 2pm hour.  I suspect that Rachel Ray might end up at 2pm, since they're probably not moving around the other shows:  Kelly/Ryan at 9am, View at 11, News at Noon, Strahan/Sara at 1pm, General Hospital at 3pm, News at 4pm onward.  Millionaire also airs in the overnight hour at 1:07am.  I suppose Right This Minute could then go to that late night slot.

Here in NYC, WABC (Ch. 7) will also have Tamron Hall at 10 am, right after Kelly & Ryan.

Meredith Vieira's new game show 25 Words or Less starts Sept. 16 on WWOR TV Channel 9. Not sure of the time.

In the Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York market, WGAL is replacing Steve with Tamron Hall at 2. I thought it might have been Kelly Clarkson (since she in essence is replacing Steve), but Kelly is moving to the 11am hour, which takes the place of Rachael Ray. I can't imagine Rachael finding another spot on WGAL (i don't see Dr. Oz at 3 being displaced, and they have an hour of news at 4). She'll probably move to another station.

WGAL airs WWTBAM at 12:30pm after their news. Not sure what will go in there.

As to the two comments on WABC and WPVI, I would imagine, as been the case for some years now, their daytime schedule (with the exception of their respective newscasts) will still be the same.

Cleveland/Akron/Lorain:

America Says will air on WBNX-55 at 8:30 PM, displacing an episode of Funny You Should Ask.

25 Words or Less gets a double run, occupying the 5-6 PM hour on WUAB-43, leading into an hour of Feud.

Edits in the future as necessary.

I doubt anything changes in Norfolk, but I did notice an official site for 25 Words or Less is now live. According to that, WTVZ will air the show, at "09:00 AM - 08:00 PM / M-F ( WTVZ-DT )" and "09:00 AM - 12:00 AM / M-F ( WTVZ-DT )", I'm guessing a double run. I've at least narrowed things down to some point between 9 am and midnight. :P

'TVZ airs Funny You Should Ask and Feud reruns from 10 am to noon, so I wouldn't be surprised if 25 Words airs in a three-hour block with those two shows, from either 9 am to noon, or 10 am to 1 pm.

Keeping with the trend of picking up GSN originals, I also would not be surprised if they pick up America Says. 'TVZ aired the short-lived Snap Decision with David Alan Grier and Baggage reruns a few years ago.

And you would be almost exactly right - Rachael Ray does take over the 2pm slot, but the 1:07am slot will be going to a rebroadcast of the 11pm news. Another airing of Tamron Hall follows at 1:40am.

I'm still waiting to see what WABC has planned for the 2:00 hour; guessing that Tamron Hall will also take the hour that Millionaire and RTM are occupying late night as well.

RTM is disappearing from New York altogether on 9/9 unless a new station picks it up. WFMZ will be picking it up in Philly and it will occupy the entire 2 PM hour.

WPVI and WABC have programmed their daytime almost exactly (except for news) for years and it will continue, with, like sister station WPVI, Tamron Hall at 10am and Rachael Ray at 2pm.

Indy doesn’t seem to have a spot for 25 Words despite the show’s website saying it will ar on My-23 - perhaps that gets sorted after baseball season (23 and sister station CW-8 air Cubs and Sox games).  EDIT: 5 & 5:30 pm “this fall” per a promo today.

America Says will air at 1 am and 7:30 am on 4.2 (4 is CBS, 4.2 is filled with syndies.)

Tamron Hall airs at 9 AM on CBS-4 (one-day delay?) replacing Millionaire and Kelly Clarkson is on NBC-13 at 11 am replacing Access Live. Wendy Williams moves from My-23 to ABC-6 replacing Pickler & Ben, which amuses me greatly.

WMAR-2 in Baltimore slots a double-run of "25 Words or Less" from 3-4pm, and "Funny You Should Ask" at 7:30pm, beginning September 16.

South Bend, IN gets America Says at 10AM and 25 Words or Less at 10:30 on WSBT-2, the Fox affiliate...airing against Deal on the primary.  No other changes.

How is everyone able to go so far ahead? Every online listing I’ve tried goes just shy of 14 days ahead?
