8th Annual 24-Hour Game Show Marathon this weekend

It’s that time of year again—the annual 24-Hour Game Show Marathon starts this Saturday, June 8 at 12pm and continues until Sunday, June 9 at 12pm, live from Philadelphia.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the event...I and the rest of the BuzzerBlog crew (Cory Anotado, Bob Hagh), our buddy Rich Liebig of the Crispy Noodle Podcast, and lots of friends and loved ones get together once a year and play 24 of the greatest game shows of all time, one an hour, for 24 straight hours. During the show, we accept monetary donations on behalf of Child’s Play, a charity that provides toys and games to children in hospital care. Our annual goal is $3,500, at which point MMCO Auto in Philadelphia will kick in another $2,500, bumping us up to $6,000+. We’ve reached our goal every year since we started the Marathon in 2012, and we’re already close to halfway there this year.

For the 8th annual Marathon, some old favorites are returning—Wheel and Jeopardy, Password, Press Your Luck, Countdown, Split Second, Match Game, and Deal or No Deal, among others. In addition, we’re playing some new games, like The Golden Shot, Telespiele, Greed, and Win Dave Mattingly’s Money featuring recent Jeopardy champ Dave Mattingly.

It’s a lot of fun, and the event gets better and better every year. We would love for you to watch, enjoy, play along, and donate. GameShowMarathon.com is the address. Thanks!
