In the PYL credits there is a BYL Carruthers listed.  I know Bill is the director/EP; who is BYL?  (Not his job title, but his relation to the Carruthers family)

Indeed. Byl performed any and all musical skits for the Whammy from June '84 forward. If it wasn't the Billie Jean or Hula Whammy, Byl did the music (and the singing too!). That's why the Music Supervisor credit changed to him at the same time.
