I wonder if the BTC episodes are going to be from the celebrity format...I may be crazy but hasn't it been Buzzr's habit to trot out celebrity specials for these events? Would make perfect sense I believe.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

Or maybe the Halloween-themed episode of BTC. I wonder if Buzzr would air that one, which BTW, if I'm not mistaken was the last civilian couples format episode to air in 1997. The November 2, 1979 show didn't get rerun until March 2008 due to Daylight Savings Time and the 2:00am timeslot GSN put in back in the day(it was preempted on Nov. 1 because of "Magazine").

Well, okay then. Seems like civvie episodes then.

How far into the run has Buzzr gotten? Not too deep but about a third of the way I would guess?

Just under a third, yeah. The 1979-80 series ran 93 episodes, 33 of which had civilians (no shows aired on October 4 or November 1 due to Magazine, but the all-celeb format always had five shows per group).

The October 23-24 episodes were shows 26 and 27, and given the press release lists them as "new-to-Buzzr" they haven't gotten to that point yet. The latest episode they've aired so far, from what I've found, is October 18 (#23, Steve & Karen/Michael & Carolyn).

Well, Mr. Downs uploaded episode #24(aired October 19, 1979) as part of the Fun & Games 10,000 subscribers video package. And Scott(who runs the BuzzrPlus YT channel) has the October 22, 1979 show in his collection too.

I'm amazed they found 48 willing celebrities.  Assuming that once was one more than any celebrity would have wanted.

Surprised me, too. And no, none of the celebs made a repeat appearance later on.

The liquor must have been free flowing.  Or perhaps it should have been.  Would have made for much more entertaining stunts :)

No. It really wouldn't have.

I like the way Buzzr acknowledges birthdays. In addition to Monty, they also mentioned Kitty Carlisle's and Jay Stewart's birthdays, on Sept 4 and 6, respectively. Kitty would be 106 today.

Somehow, I doubt that.
