A Gene Rayburn wannabe...
« on: January 17, 2004, 07:46:48 PM »
While doing research for one of my sites, I ran across this interesting revelation from the host of the Style Network's "Guess Who's Coming To Decorate", Tyler Harcott:

Q: Who is your role model for hosting?
Tyler: I think the one person who stands out is Gene Rayburn from Match Game. He had that incredible ability, it was like he was hosting a party at his house, and I love that sense of 'You're welcome, come on in, and make yourself a drink.' He was funny, a little bit sarcastic and a little bit dirty, but it was done in the best of fun.

Tyler used to host "Junkyard Wars" on TLC, a job that was at one time also held by George Gray.

And heaven knows the celebs took advantage of the free drinks.  :-)
