When Skip's run came to an end what was he playing for?

I recalled asking that question last month myself -- he was going for the car and lost.

I know GSN's had the episodes closed-captioned-------that may help in confirming the spelling.

.....Then again, I noticed the captions spelled Alice's last name as Conkrite. Take that as you like.

I'm 99.9% certain GSN's closed-captioners had no definitive information on the spelling of contestants' last names, and had to make a semi-educated guess.

I moused over in the faint hope that he'd slipped the resting place of Jimmy Hoffa or the missing 18½ minutes of Watergate tapes somewhere in all that blacked-out text.  He hadn't.

That's screwed up....yet funny all the same.

My question is this...since he was composing such a compendium, wouldn't it have made so much more sense to link us to the compendium instead of copying and pasting all that? Unless it was just for his own personal use.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

You try making "LOL WUT" into words that sorta reflect the situation.

I wouldn't waste my time with an image that doesn't convey your point one iota when 7 keystrokes are all you need to make your point (?), and my initial reaction (which I kept to myself, which is key) was "How cute", in the sort of way when a dog brings you a dead bird from outside.

Reviving this thread, because I have some updated information:

Taking Thanksgiving and Black Friday 1983 into consideration, and assuming there was a pre-emption on January 2, 1984, 2/29/1984 may most likely be a milestone episode, #0300, otherwise it's #0301.

Even though i couldn't find it on YouTube as of lately, i did download the clip of Ian Barondess's buying of the cash jackpot (it's currently in my external hard drive).  It is said to be from 5/23/1984, and the end game decorations had an outer space theme.  I will verify the episode number and Ian's challengers at some point hopefully soon.  I do know the episode number is in the #0360-#0365 range.

I do know that the speed round was not prevalent until sometime in March 1984 (was definitely in place by March 26, 1984).

Rani White's $50,000 win was believed to have taken place sometime in May 1988, though the actual air date is unknown.
I am developing classic game show PC games.
If you'd like to find out information about them, PM me anytime.
