NBC announces "The Wall"
« on: October 28, 2015, 02:28:41 PM »
Chris Hardwick will host and executive produce the game, which comes from LeBron James' production company.  Ten episodes have been green-lit for the quizzer, which sounds like a mix of "Plinko" and Britain's "Tipping Point" ....

It'll only be worth watching if, like Jackie Rogers Jr's $100,000 Jackpot Wad, they put the contestants in oversized discs and send the contestants down the Plinko board.

On a side note , HOW HAS THIS NOT BEEN DONE YET?

Could you see this down a 10 story building in NYC? I totally could. And I'd watch. And so would you (for at least the first 5 minutes).

The concept actually sounds kinda fun, at least worth a watch. I know that prime time games don't really work like this anymore, but I'd love to see TPTB treat this like a fun, lighthearted game.
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

I love the idea of Chris Hardwick hosting a game show. I loathe that the article says "life changing amounts of money."

I'm picturing the Luxor in Las Vegas. It's got a better incline. And more goofies.

I suspect ratings will be solid throughout, but start to fade in May and June. After seven seasons it'll move to Fox.
This signature is currently under construction.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Old thread revival, but I keep getting Facebook ads for casting for this new show.

http://glassmanmedia.com/the-wall-nbc-casting/

The site mentions that this is casting for Season 2 of "The Wall".  Did I miss season 1?  ...or is it just sitting in a can somewhere waiting to be aired?

Also, tons of Baptist churches on the list for casting locations.  No real comment on that other than that it caught my attention.

The first promotional image appears to show a host being restrained.

Intrigued.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

I seem to be recall a round of casting calls for "The Wall" being done in December and January, but that's the last most heard about the series until NBC's May upfront, when the Peacock announced the show would air.

All I keep thinking when I see this picture:

"No, Chris! You can't burn it down! I don't care how much Plinko paid you!"
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

Thought Donald Trump would want to host this.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
