Yes, these were videotaped series transferred to film. The station had one videotape machine that never was quite in sync (lines on the tape, rolling, etc.)  Their film chain worked much better. I have read that the AFRTS used kinescopes through the '70s as well.

Mmmmm. How would I go about getting locked into that particular vault for a weekend? Just let me bring a cooler fulla munchies and a VCR and TV, and I'll be JUST fine, trust me... :)

Hmmm....what else is in those vaults?  Any other NBC shows we all thought were destroyed?
