I remember asking the uploader about that episode, and he said early July 1983. IIRC, July 8th or so.

Out of curiosity, anyone known when they changed the intro, to where the dollar sign on the logo "spiraled" onto the screen, as opposed to the counter-clockwise wipe shown here?

During which instances was Daytime Sale preempted? I know of the following:

November 24-25, 1983

July 4, 1986

November 27-28, 1986

June or July 1987 didn't air (due to the Iran Contra hearings)

November 24-25, 1988

January 2, 1989

January 20, 1989

March 6-17, 1989 (Temp. replaced by Rona Barrett's At Rona's)

And even stranger: No new episode aired on January 2, 1984 on the west coast. But it did over on the east coast.

Did it also get preemped nation-wide on January 21, 1985 (Ronald Reagan re-election)?

CBS simply re-scheduled their game shows for later that same day.

No, they didn't. According to TV Listings for that day, $25K Pyramid and PYL aired intact at 10am, with Inauguration Coverage starting at 11am, and continuing through, to 5pm.

No, they didn't. According to TV Listings for that day, $25K Pyramid and PYL aired intact at 10am, with Inauguration Coverage starting at 11am, and continuing through, to 5pm.

I meant on the west coast. Particularly in Los Angeles.

Add 11/28/85  since there was a clip from 11/27.

I took care of all Turkey Day preemptions in Post 34.  :)  (11/28/85 being one of them--that was the day of the Ahmad Rashad long-distance proposal to the-then Phylicia Ayers-Allen.)

I believe the October 15, 1984 episode, Margerite/John/Debbie was the debut of The Winner's Board on the daytime edition. During the episode, Jim Perry wishes a 35th anniversary to WSAZ-TV in Huntington, West Virginia, which first signed-in on October 14.

Okay, I just got back from my local library, and here are the dates in which no new episode aired:

November 24-25, 1983 (2)

November 22, 1984 (1)

January 21, 1985 (1)

November 28, 1985 (1)

July 4, 1986 (1)

November 27-28, 1986 (2)

Circa Summer 1987

November 26-27, 1987 (2)

November 24-25, 1988 (2)

January 2, 1989 (1)

January 20, 1989 (1)

March 6-17, 1989 (10)

Could there have been staggered weeks (weeks ending on different days, instead of Fridays) during the summer of 1987, that would explain the total daytime episode count (1,578)?

Could have that confused with the taping date, because of Bill Fogel's Cash Jackpot win being near the Winner's Board debut.

Actually, TPIR does appear to have aired that day...although strangely enough, they seem to have run the next day's episode. The same holds true the following day, with a rerun airing on Wednesday the 23rd and Monday's show not airing until April 8.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's what it says happened.

What was your source? I'm curious.I got mine from the Reading (PA) Eagle's Sunday TV section..
