Card Sharks
« on: November 25, 2012, 01:35:05 PM »
Hi everyone,

It seems that GSN is skipping episodes 262 and 264 of Card Sharks.  Wednesday's show (last one aired) was 261, Monday's will be 263, and Tuesday's will be 265.

Anyone know why?
Thanks!
Adam

Tape damage, more likely than not.

I would love to see just one official source that that's ever been a reason for GSN's skips, or (as I'm more likely to believe) that it's mere presumption.

For once, I'd like to see you actually give a definitive, factual answer, instead of another one of your "guesses".

Moving on...

http://web.archive.o.../csguide79.html

I noticed a lot of errors in this guide. First off, not only is the episode count one away from the actual number for the first half of 1979, but some of the dates are missing. The date from 7/9/79 is missing, as is 9/21/79, and CS didn't air on 9/23/79.

And finally, given that GSN typically does 200 episode leases for non-original programming, it doesn't look like they will be showing the Christmas episodes from 1979. I even checked the available PDFs, and it doesn't look like they will be interrupting the regular airings to show them.

Moving on, completely changing the subject, and not backing up your words. SSDD.

But still, I wanna know if anyone can help me with that guide for the remainder of 1979 from 7/9/79 to 12/31/79.

But still, you're avoiding the subject and look like a complete asshat every single time you make these guesses, and even more like one by avoiding the subject.

Well, why else do you think GSN would skip 262 and 264? Political correctness? Some other controversial reasons?

I bet they're skipping because of political correctness. Or somebody dropping their trousers after a painful Money Cards bust.

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

I think they did it to piss you off.

Seriously, dude, this crap gets old.  You don't get to throw out ideas that you can't back up and not have anyone call you on it.

Tape damage could very well be the reason, but there's no proof to back that claim up.  And without said proof, you shouldn't claim that to be the reason so matter-of-factly. The simple answer is that you don't know the reason those episodes are being skipped... and neither do I. Probably the only people who do are currently employed in Culver City.

Like it makes a difference. All he's going to do is brush everyone off and go right back to his obnoxious, self-righteous behavior.

You mean you don't have the episode that aired right after that; the episode where Jim Perry called the contestant a dumb**** after risking $5000 on a nine?
