I can just picture the host explaining the rules to the show, as has been the tradition of all previous versions.  "Yo, g, da object of da homiez is to get three squares across, up and down, diagonally, or correctly agree or disagree with as many of muh homeboyz up in dat big azz tic tac toe board as possible, bee-yotches!"
Seriously... WTF?!

When you hear the announcers say, "It's M.C. Week on Hip Hop Squares", don't expect to see game show hosts manning the squares.  Expect to see the likes of MC Hammer, MC Lyte, MC Solaar,...

A 15 second promo is on the website - nothing earth-shattering.
The logo is very Windows Phone-ish, of course, assuming that's not a stand-in.

Darn!  My idea for "Hip Hop Scotch" must have been rejected.
Already was a show. I found a pic of the guy who won the '77 ToC.
Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

My grandfather went to school with MC Escher.

For him, the walk really was uphill both ways.

7/10, but you got someone to bite within an hour and in the middle of the night.  9/10.

This seems vaguely racist, but I'm not sure if I'm just being overly sensitive.

Just a little bit? If there was a way to make that more racist or offensive, I'm not sure how.

I'm going to watch it for curiosity's sake; however, based off of the genre and the parodies before it this has a "I LIKE WHERE THIS [SHOW'S] THREAD IS GOING" macro written all over it.

Here's hoping that the producers go with a cool club-based set vs. a Flatbush back-alley that Fenner's probably thinking of.

I'm more annoyed that it plays up to the stereotype that hip-hop involves street slang. You usually only find such misspellings in the worst of worst rap songs.

Hip hop, like, say country music, is so much more about the stereotypes people like to pigeonhole them as.
