Is Friday's TPiR .....
« on: January 04, 2007, 07:20:43 PM »
The news broke Nov. 1. The episode that airs Friday, Jan. 5, (according to CBS.com) taped Nov. 1.

I'm not familiar with when TPiR tapes on any given day. Would this episode's audience have known the news?

Given that the news broke around lunchtime on the East Coast, the taping would be later in the day and they'd know.

As per a previous thread, there were a few aired Xmas shows that were already taped after the fact.

I think we should start a little contest as to what date will we see the first person called who is wearing some sort of shirt which mentions Bob's 'retirement'.

I'm aware of that. I'm just looking out for one that has the most immediate reaction. If word got to the line before this episode, it would be one to pay attention to.

That would be today's show.  Contestant Edward Compos. the 4th contestant called to come on down today had a shirt alluding to Bob's farewell.

Incorrect.  Yesterday's contestant that played Lucky $even had a mention on her shirt.

I had the under at 1/12/07.  Guess I win.  :)

Kimberly from 1/9: "My Desire (blank space) Don't Retire"
Edward from 1/10: "Bob, I hate goodbyes"
This signature is currently under construction.

I think I'm convinced a lot of people are going to have a hard time letting Bob go. These early indications are indeed a sign of things to come...

Based on some of the stuff around here, I'm not sure how you didn't come to that conclusion a whole lot sooner...

These shirts only convince me that Bob's retirement is a good thing.

Maybe when the suck-up fest ends, some decent contestants will be picked again.

I guess you could change it to the first person who talks to Bob about it. Unless that's already been done.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

This is already the case, isn't it? Oh, wait, you mean letting him go figuratively. My bad.

The audiences are frenzied on any other show, but when those big doors kick open on Bob's last day, that's going to be explosive...

Difference is that Carson absolutely deserved it.
