I only watched it a few times during the first go around. Where there format tweaks during the shows run?

Seriously, if you can't offer an answer, why post?

In season 2 , The bonus went from 5 open ended questions at $500/answer to 10 multiple choice questions that paid $300/answer.

The only other change I know of between seasons 1 and 2 is that the second round questions were lowered to $200 from $250.

It was round 3, and it went down to $250 from $300.

Not in gameplay, but another difference in seasons was the stupid decision to have the audience screaming "DROP!  DROP!" when the player had pulled the arm and the lights were doing their thing picking the unlucky hole.  The whole combination of the overhead shot and the spinning SFX (not to mention the sigh of relief SFX when the contestant was missed) was a properly suspenseful way of presentation and the impact was blunted by all of that screaming (Hack Game Show Producer Rule No. 1:  "There is no such thing as unnecessary audience noise").  At least it sounded real, unlike that canned noise that accompanied matching things against the clock on "Amnesia," despite the fact that the studio audience knows little or nothing about the contestant's personal life--do you think the people who work on prime time game shows were molded in their production ideas by watching "Double Dare" or "Fun House" and that whenever a clock is running and a host isn't asking questions that the audience should always be screaming "GO!  GO!  GO!"?  (I'm surprised we don't have audience screaming whenever someone uses a Press on "Duel.")

I wonder who proposed those changes in season two?  Gunnar Wettenberg or the addition of Michael Canter?

From watching the reruns I say it lives up to the hype. It should have lasted longer and is way better than a number of games that have passed through GSN since.
