Which is how we ended up with both Press Your Luck and Whammy! last year. [/quote]
Different titles, different shows...I'm sick of hearing people STILL complain about this.

Were Password and Super Password treated differently last year?  (This is a serious question -- I don't remember.)  After all, those have a different host, and significantly different tasks for winning.

Neep. Password Plus and Super Password were lumped into the whole "Password" category.

You know - I don't remember the commercials for this last year (correction...I didn't have GSN last year), but the Feast commercials show all the GSN originals and Family Feud, and then invite viewers to vote for their favorite shows.

Any guesses as to what we'll see?

Don't forget the half-second frame of a wife hitting her husband with a card on The Newlywed Game. But other than that...gee. Feud, Whammy, Lingo, & Match Game will make it in for sure.

I'm sure there are some that would vote for Jeopardy! 1978 versus the current J! run if the runs were treated separately, or would vote for 70s NYC Pyramid versus 1987-88 $100K if those runs were treated separately, but oh well.

A 70s Newlywed Game clip is also seen in the promos. Newlywed didn't make the top 12 last year. Expect to see Cram, Lingo, and Whammy!, Feud, and MG7x among the top 12 methinks. What they could do is take the top 24 shows and show one ep. of each(lower the number a bit if Twenty One, Greed, and/or Weakest Link make the cut, as those shows only have hour long episodes available). We'd be more likely to see some lesser-known or at least lesser-seen shows if they did that.

One good reason I think as to why the various runs of Password & Pyramid were all lumped together is for variety's sake; suppose all the versions of Pyramid in GSN's holdings made the top 12...that'D be 4 whole hours of essentially the same show! Same story for Password.

It's fairly understandle as to why GSN would make an exception and make its original program a seperate entry from the original Press Your Luck.

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone entertained any possible theories as to why The Gong Show isn't on the ballot again? Even though there are at least 12 shows missing, that one would have a shot at making the top 12.

Hmm, I say.

I'll go out on a limb and say that there's probably only going to be 2 slots that will be up for grabs...the rest will be Feud, Match Game, Whammy, PYL, Lingo, Millionaire, Cram, WoF, J!, and Squares (Bergeron)--not in that order, of course.

(EDIT: totally forgot about Pyramid...looks like the almost uncertainty is down to just one slot)

Going to be interesting to see if Millionaire will dethrone Match Game for the top spot.

J! and Squares didn't make it last year. I wouldn't count on it this year, either.

My guess would be the ever-present problem of clearing music. -_-

See, music clearance issues crossed my mind almost immediately after I clicked "Add Reply." However, they DO after all have the $1.98 Beauty Show on the ballot, and for years it was in the same boat as The Gong Show.

I doubt 2 episodes would sink their financial ship, especially since they ran a 4 hour marathon of episodes multiple times within the past year.

Ah well.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but "Feast" voting ends November 3rd.
