Contemporary version. I wonder if this is a cable version of that "What The Blank?" thing that Randy announced on for Fox.

Randy, is there anything here you're able to share?

Perhaps the show won't be that bad, if they tap the RIGHT Executive Producer.

Wasn't this allegedly in the pipeline last year, too?  At this point, I'm actually rooting against it coming back, since the clever double-entendre has apparently gone the way of the dinosaur when it comes to your average D-List celebrity panel, and they're all just dying to write down "weiner."

//How 'bout Charlene Tilton, then?

Nice way to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the only crappy version of Match Game ever made.  Keeping Judy off the panel would be an improvement to the last version, albeit not by much..

This is a real tough one. First of all, I have a feeling that the subtle shock factor that MG'7x had is pretty much gone. Nowadays, it seems like people would rather drop F-bombs and make obvious sexual innuendos than simply give "boobs" for every third answer. (Think of how many answers got bleeped out on MG98, as compared to the previous versions.) In fact, I don't even think "boobs" would get more than a slight chuckle these days. "Titties", maybe.

Also, given Fremantle's track record of changing things just for the sake of changing things, I bet all of us MG'7x fans are worried that the revival will BLANK with the format yet again. However, I'm a glass-half-full kind of person, so I'm not entirely ruling out the possibility that a decent revival might be in store.

The big thing is getting a panel with some chemistry, or giving the show enough time to build one. Didn't help the last version that the panel was all signed up before they could see if they were any good.

And if they want to be titillating, they'll have to put "boobs" in the body of the question, like "You could tell Doris was an athlete. She had boobs like _______s."

Actually, I'm kind of with you on this- a lot is going to depend on which network (if any) signs on. GSN (obviously) would be a good choice- Comedy Central would be OK, but they have to be careful about it.

and I would hope they modernize it a little, but not too much- "Rotten Rodney was so rotten (how rotten was he?) that he tried to sell his BLANK on Ebay"...

Of course, it seemed like the writers of MG98 were actually baiting the panelists, and even the contestants, to fill in the blank with something lewd. I recall reading on Mandel's website that one of the questions involved 7-Up and Viagra teaming up to make a soft drink for impotent men, called <blank>-up. Think about it.

Well, in 1998, GSN reruns of MG were popular, but nowadays, it's a very well-known show on the network, along the lines of some of the stuff on say, TV Land or another mainstream cable network. I think the potential producer of this one would keep that in mind, and not go for the "sex sells" route of the 98 version.

And honestly, the Marathon version of MG wasn't that bad. I actually found it to be one of the better shows, it just needs civilians and a smaller budget.

Say, MG PM format, with two $250-500-1000 Super Matches, no Star Wheel. $20,000 is still a lot of money for a daily game show.

Get Dick DeBartolo to consult the new version.  He knows what works and where to draw the line.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
