That's interesting, because I count myself as a "real" fan, and I have no idea what this number means.

/as opposed to those pesky imitation fans
//never settle
///unless settling has a gold coin on it.

EDIT: Oh, I get it now. But so what?

My first thought was, it's how much a million dollar winner on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? would wind up with after government taxes.  Then I noticed that there's a period instead of a comma between the second 6 and the 4, so now I'm wondering if it's not a slightly more generous than normal prize on a hypothesized network remake of The Gong Show.

/That, or it's the new SAG scale minimum for a day of work.

I figured this out after a math quiz my junior year.

For whatever reason, I've never forgotten it.

While I consider myself a "real" fan--despite the fact that I didn't have an answer original enough to contribute to the "what's the most obscure fact you know" thread--I didn't *know* this answer.  However, it was my first guess.

Toetyper should remember, though, that different versions of J! have had different value systems.  You sure as hell couldn't pull down $566K during Fleming's run.

And that's where this should be- in the "What's the most fanboyish fact...." thread. But for this guy to create a new thread and then tell us what we should know as game show fans is totally asinine.

Also, wouldn't this assume that your Daily Doubles were the absolutely last space(s) picked on the board? I tried this math problem a few years ago (before the last money bump), but I was putting the DDs at the highest dollar value on the board each time.

[/quote]You would be right. To get $566,400:
-Every clue must be answered correctly.
-All Daily Doubles must be in the top row of the board, and picked last.
-You would have to wager everything on every Daily Double and Final Jeopardy.
