There has been talk, but the official first air date has not been selected yet.

At the end, when he goes into obligatory plug mode, he says (paraphrasing) "So, The Price is Right in October and Power of 10 every Wednesday night ..."

That's as definitive and as credible as we've had in regards to a start date.

Good Gawd! What the hell did he do on the turntable to let that happen?

Looks like at the very least, his arm got sandwiched between the turntable and the side wall. Can't explain the cut though...

The turntable probably scraped against the arm in addition to smashing it.  Either that or Drew tried to yank his arm out and that did the job.

And If I hear ONE more person saying Drew will never be able to fill Bob Barker's shoes again, I will scream. [/quote]
Well how big were his feet?  Maybe Drew really can't fill his shoes ;)

Anyway, I can see uses for the jib, as long as they don't overuse it.

You know what they say about game show hosts with big feet...

/Dian: It's a lie!
//Bob: You're fired.

I could see the edges of the backdrop possibly slicing him...

The CBS website has reruns listed through September 21. So, October seems to be the answer.

JIb camera = more shots of the tops of the audience's heads.

The taping went well, save for one stop down that I won't discuss as it deals directly with game play.  The show will not be the premiere episode.  Drew seemed genuinely touched by the audience support; I'll be interested to see how much (if any) of the opening applause gets edited out.  The changes in the set are cosmetic, with new colors on the doors and a logo that looks less "busy."  My only negative criticism involves the new curtains which hang around the studio behind the audience... a bit too garish for my taste (more "flower power" than "hour power" to me).

Drew told the audience he is learning the games at a rate of about six per week (and that he only knows about seven or eight right now), which should mean they'll be airing these first taped episodes out of order for a little while.  I wouldn't say that he feels comfortable with all of them at this point, but generally speaking he did a good job of moving them along and interacting with the contestants.  I think he's going to do just fine.

TonySCV over at golden-road.net (who IIRC, is Tony Harrison of tpir.tv) attended today's tapings, and has a Q&A thread here.

I lol'd.

Did Drew's injury become part of his "material"?  When the news first broke (lame pun not intended) I figured that would eventually happen.

Well, if you have to see "The Insider" on Wednesday, around 3 minutes, you will see the injuries up-close.
