Is anyone from the board going to the first day of taping? Is it even still on despite Drew's injury?

Any idea if the media is going to be there en masse to cover Drew's first taping?

And RIGHT THERE is why it was a good idea to hire Drew Carey to replace...uh, the old guy. Had it been Todd Newton or somebody at that particular level, you'd have some small interest. With the well-known Carey, it's going to get a lot more attention. Which is not a bad thing.
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

True and that's why they need to take Bob Barker's $--+ eating grin from popping up in that green section at the top of the CBS TPIR page. They should be promoting the heck out of Drew.

On a related subject, has there been any talk yet of when the season will start airing?

I'll be there. Roommate and I are leaving in ten minutes to stock up on Red Bull, and then off to Beverly Blvd.

According to CBS media relations, media will not be on set for Drew's first few tapings.

One thing I won't like about this season will be the usage of the jib on the show.

They would be better off experimenting with cameras in the back of the studio as they did in 2000-2001 (camera's were there, but never used)
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

So they will be using it? Boy, that'll ruffle some feathers at another unnamed Game show site.

Interesting...I wonder why they weren't used?

You're kidding me. They get their panties in a wad over a camera shot?

Wow. I will now giggle hysterically every time I see a crane shot on that show. (I like 'em, anyhow, but now I REALLY like 'em.)

Don't you know, Chris, that if Marc Breslow didn't do it, it shouldn't be done?  :)

(And that is not a defense of Mr. Eskander, in case someone asks.)

OH yeah. Any time the slightest change is hinted at, some people get all hissy about them because "the show doesn't need any changes."

And If I hear ONE more person saying Drew will never be able to fill Bob Barker's shoes again, I will scream.

Note: This is not a slight at the site itself or most of its members- just the super fanboish ones as of late.

Audience seating (folding chairs) uses up the camera platform in the back of 33. There's no other place to put cameras back there.

Some shows even had the part of center section of seats removed to make room for a Chapman crane, which explains why you never saw audience shots on, for example, "Pyramid". (Jib cameras weren't around back then.)

They weren't using stage cameras. They looked like over the shoulder cameras mounted in the corners. I remember seeing the angle displayed on the TV's in the audience and the shot looked very cool.
