How could Drew be worse than Rosie?  He may hang out with strippers, but it's not exactly like Barker had immaculate morals.  And at least he keeps his politics to himself (I believe he leans to the right but is more libertarian), for the most part.  I would have the same objections I had to Rosie if Bill O'Reilly was under consideration for "TPIR."
[/quote]

For what it's worth, as far as Drew's personality goes, he'd be a good candidate.

After a taping of the Drew Carey Show I saw about 7 years ago, he stood by the exit shaking hands and taking all the time he could to do autographs (not just a simple scribble -- he'd sign and date each autograph) and to speak with the people who came to see him.

And when the Rock Hall in Cleveland opened up 11 years ago, though he wasn't officially in the Grand Opening Parade, he actually walked along the parade route down East 9th Street and again shook hands, signed autographs and posed for pictures with anyone who wanted them.

At least Drew Carey (up to a few years ago for sure) has never placed himself on a high pedestal in front of his fans, nor does he go into seclusion and turn off his on-camera persona the moment he hears a director say "that's a wrap" like some former hosts of TPIR.

We'll see how he does on PO10.

That's acting experience. Which you don't want your host doing.

Too bad no one told Burt Luddin.

I hope you're not insinuating in any way that Burt Luddin's Love Buffet is even REMOTELY an example of a good game show. :)

I first saw GSN regularly in late 1998-early 1999..I knew from the start that Bert Luddin was a parody of a game show..The show WAS an act..

Of course not. :-)  The show sucked for many other reasons beyond the fact that the host was acting, but that said, I don't recall him being such great shakes in the role either.

ESPN's Dan Patrick mentioned on his show today that he had been approached for an audition by CBS.

Keith Olbermann then related his one experience with game shows. He was apparently asked early in his career to give up a bunch of time to a game show pilot entitled "Your Face or Mine". (Seriously).  Keith declined.

More info on Mr. Patrick:  http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_6256880 (halfway down the page.)

Go steal Larry Emdur from the Aussies.  Please.  I beg of you.  End this mess.  He can do it right.  And the fanB0iz would like it.  Please.

If they're reaching for the Dan Patricks of the world.....CBS have your people contact my agent.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Dan Patrick of ten years ago, maybe... he's rather pompous these days.

Rich Eisen would love the chance, I believe.

That would be a real slap in Rosie's face if Dan, Stu or Rich got the gig and due to their ESPN committment, Fremantle had to move the whole kit and kaboodle to Bristol.

then again, some of us would LOVE that.

signed, Connecti-Matt (who, as a non-ESPNer, has spent more time in Brisol than most people should. Seriously. Keith Olbermann was right on.)
