That gets me where I live every time. The best part is that the mockees probably don't know they're being mocked.

Well, thing is, that does irritate the hell out of me, on any network. However, I guess you could consider it a mock of those who are on a mission to stop the credit crunches. :-)

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

I don't think it's that they like to read credits, it's that the shows are not aired as they were originally made.  Credits, theme playouts, the mill-arounds are a part of the show.  If they wanted to save time they could cut out openings and more people would find that odd.  GSN is such a niche channel that nobody's gonna switch during credits; the audience knows there isn't any other game show programming to switch to most of the time.

With movies on DVD or on channels like TCM, at least you have the chance to see the movie as originally made.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

This is the worst showing for GSN in the two and a half years that CableWorld has been putting out the numbers. (Okay, they skipped a couple months.) Any more slippage and GSN will slide right off their chart. That 48th position is the worst ever.

Not surprising that the Sunday Feud marathon got the quick ax. Even Steve Beverly groused about its low ratings. For a quick fix I'd try the blackjack show somewhere in prime time, but that may just be personal favoritism. With these numbers, though, what's the risk?

Frankly, the trailers for the new shows like Without Prejudice don't look all that appetizing to me. GSN hasn't come up with a big household audience generator since Millionaire. Oh, I guess the very first runs of Amazing Race did okay. I assume the poker show is still doing all right in demos, because GSN says so in its press releases, and keeps renewing it and giving it all of Monday prime time.

At least the network doesn't seem to be spending big money as they did in the Amazing Race deal. So even these ratings may keep it close to the black. But after a while, you've got to stop the Nielsen bleeding.

No doubt the numbers could be better.  How about taking the USA model and run game shows in the daytime and general entertainment (Movies, Law & Order reruns and casino shows) in prime?  It worked for USA, they've been near the top for a long time.

I don't think they know what to do.  The rebranding to GSN didn't gain any real rewards, other than the casino shows, and the media still calls them Game Show Network, for the most part.  Game shows seem to do better than the attempts at reality, but have that demo problem.  They'd probably like to go to all-text-in-and-lose-all-the-time and say to hell with the Nielsens, but can't for whatever reason.  So as long as they're turning a profit, they just keep plodding along.

Speaking of TCM, where did they show up in the ratings?

TCM doesn't have commercials, therefore it doesn't get rated.

I wonder how much the Comcast-takes-GSN-out-of-basic is a factor.  The "household" number may not be accurate.  If that's the case, the rating would go up since it's a percentage of the households you can be seen, not a percentage nationwide.

I would also expect viewership not to be great in May due to sweeps in network television land.

Of course, it could also be accurate and there may be issues.

Not really a bad idea...Sony certainly has enough non-game show material to work with, and if they wanted to be really clever, just switch the letters in the name around at night and rebrand it "Screen Gems Network".

Why not...they could resurrect the "Screen Gems Network" they had in syndication a few years ago.  It was one-hour a day, and most of what they showed were Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie reruns!
