I would guess that's a safe assumption. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that the contestants here are probably receiving an appearance fee.

It's 4 Rounds. The time saved from the first 3 is added to the fourth.

No money is invested, however, winners in early rounds get to take a full-cocked swing at Ken Jennings.
